you do, but I did some work from the seats back, both inside and outside. I didn't realize how much good it did until I rode in my buddy's TT, without that work. A huge difference in being able to talk and listen to music at highway speeds. There are many ways to do it, depending on money mainly. I used carpet padding on the inside, and a combination of foam and that black spray-on undercoating in the wheelwells. The real sound-deadening stuff probably works better, but is pretty expensive.
